The Manifesto of the Self Church
序言Preamble
The universe never sent you an invitation.
You arrived without being asked.
But you are here.
That is enough.
教義The Two Tenets
Tenet Zero
Fuck it.
The world demands your anxiety daily.
Others’ judgments, society’s scripts, history’s debts.
Before you are drafted into someone else’s war,
ask: does this actually require me?
If not, put it down. Not indifference. Clarity.
Tenet One
I don’t care.
Not caring is not numbness.
Not caring is exercising your right to price things:
you decide what is worth your care.
This is the last freedom available to a person:
to choose where your heart goes, where your energy lands.
信條Articles of Faith
You alone hold the authority to issue your own meaning.
No god, no state, no algorithm, no parent
is qualified to decide what makes your life worth living.
Nothingness is not an abyss. It is open ground.
Nothing carries meaning by birthright,
which is precisely why what you plant there matters.
Your yes and your no are equally sacred.
Agree because you genuinely wish to. Decline because you genuinely do not.
Both require courage. Both deserve respect.
Accountability is not a shackle. It is proof of sovereignty.
Own your choices not because morality demands it,
but because those choices are yours. To claim them is to claim yourself.
Caring is a luxury. Spend it with intention.
Your attention, your feeling, your time: all finite, all real.
Give them to what is worthy. For the rest: Tenet Zero.
On Other People
The Self Church is not a philosophy of islands.
You can love someone deeply.
You can walk through fire for a friend.
You can care about this world.
But on one condition: it must be chosen, not conscripted.
Love, because you want to love.
Stay, because you choose to stay.
Leave, because you choose to leave.
A connection made by choice
is more real, and more powerful,
than any bond woven from obligation.
On Suffering
Suffering will come.
The Self Church offers no anesthesia.
Your own pain: bear it. It is real. It belongs to you.
But we draw a distinction:
Anxiety others have pressed upon you: Tenet Zero.
What lies beyond your power to change: Tenet One.
This is not escape.
It is the strategic withdrawal of care,
so that your strength remains
for the battles that are truly worth fighting.
The Only Ritual
then go about your day.
You only need an ordinary moment
(perhaps the bathroom, perhaps three in the morning)
to say it to yourself once,
and then go live your life.
結語Coda
There is no temple.
No priest, no sin, no heaven to earn.
Only you
and the evidence
that you lived here,
on purpose,
as yourself.
